Problem Note 39391: Problems occur when you access a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 table that contains the TIME data type from SAS® 9.2 in a Windows operating environment

Under Windows, the following problems occur when you access a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 table that contains the TIME data type from SAS 9.2:
- When you try to access an SQL Server 2008 table using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to OLE DB with the Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10, the TIME data type is missing from the results. The following note also might be returned:
NOTE: The following 1 column(s) in oledblib.tablename have been automatically dropped because they have a datatype that is not supported by this engine: TimeVar
- When you try to access an SQL Server 2008 table that contains the TIME data type using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to ODBC with the SQL Server Native Client 10 ODBC driver, a numeric TIME data type is read as a character type.
As a workaround, use the DBSASTYPE= data set option to read the TIME value as numeric.
